Sejarah Petronas FP-1 Malaysia (1st Malaysian Superbikes)

Berhabuk balik la posting kat blog ni. Today meh aku sajikan sedikit santapan untuk kebanggaan rakyat Malaysia .

Did you know Malaysia once produce first ever superbikes?

Yess.We did. but how?

Meh aku share sikit ;

In 2003 , Petronas Malaysia involve in special project dengan Sauber Petronas -Engineering pada tahun 2003 untuk compete dalam MotoGP but unfortunately at the end mereka decide to join WSBK instead . So, bila dah masuk WSBK mesti lah nak kene follow rules and regulation mereka , it happen that to comply with the rules and regulation Petronas mesti produce 150 FP-1 for road use! So terhasil sudah Malaysian first ever superbikes (banggo omakk haa) .

So Mano Pulak Poiee Motor Cupin ni?

Berdasarkan pembacaa cetek aku la , first batch sebanyak 75 bikes produce in UK and another 75 assemble kat Malaysia (Modenas Gurun) . Stylo tu , Modenas mampu assemble benda-benda hi-tech mcm ni zaman 9 tahun lepas .

So in masuk la zaman penglibatan Petronas dlm WSBK. Team ni lebih dikenali sebagai Foggy Petronas Racing in collaboration with Carl Fogarty tapi penglibatan team ni dalam WSBK tak lama pun sbb perubahan peraturan dalam WSBK yang buat team Foggy ni losing the pace in the race competing with other team .

Dipercayai sampai sekarang ada lebih kurang 60 FP-1 disimpan kat dalam bunker in Essex , UK. Ini kira product yang tak dijual untuk tujuan apa memang tak pasti . Tapi ada je european yang pakai rare-bikes ni ,maybe the remaining 15 bikes tu lah . Priceless atau Worthless the bikes , definately priceless .

Kat Malaysia ini berapa banyak tak sure . Dengar cerita SBM Kg. Pandan tu ada 2 ketul . Selling price RM 175 ,000 . Fuhh, mantop harga but for collectible item like that, it suit the price tag . But wondering jugak if assemble in Modenas around 75 bikes , where is the rest of the bikes ? Any leak info u guys wanna share?Drop me your comment or email .
